Tanf Oversight Committee

The Arkansas Workforce Development Board is appointed by the governor and serves as a convener of state, regional, and local workforce system partners to enhance the capacity and performance of the workforce development system; align and improve employment, training and education programs; and, through these efforts promote economic growth.

The TANF Oversight Committee is a sub-committee of the Arkansas Workforce Development Board and is responsible for seeking ways to continuously improve the Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA) program and engage the resources of government, business, faith-based, and community organizations in order to empower Arkansas’ TEA recipients and low-income families to achieve long-term self-sufficiency and improved quality of life.

The TANF Oversight Committee will also develop measures and benchmarks to gauge the progress of the TEA program, the Arkansas Work Pays program, the Career Pathways Initiative, the Community Investment Initiative, as well as other TANF initiatives.
